Dr. Zhu Chouwen, born in Shanghai, was appointed in April 2017, as the Vice President of Zhongshan Hospital, affiliated to Fudan University, China.
Dr. Zhu graduated from Peking Union Medical College after 8-year program and got his MD in 1992, and MSc in Health Development and Clinical Epidemiology from Chulalongkorn University, in Thailand in 1996. Since 1992, he started and kept his clinical profession in the Department of Internal Medicine focusing on digestive diseases, and his teaching job in Shanghai Medical College, till now.
He served as the Vice Director of Medical Affairs Office in Zhongshan Hospital from 1999 to 2003, responsible for quality surveillance and improvement, multi-disciplinary service approaches, etc, and then Vice Director, Director of Foreign Affairs Office in Fudan University from 2003 to 2017, responsible for all the international cooperation and faculty/student mobility for university-wide projects and programs. He was the senior visiting scholar in Strong Memorial Hospital, University of Rochester, on GI hormone and motility in 1999. Dr. Zhu has broad international connections and is very experienced in clinical care and management, domestic and international collaboration.
